Ryanne Sebern ✥ Jewelry Artist
Exploration in the arts is more than conquering a medium. The creation of a physical piece of work translates ideas within the artist's mind.
As a jeweler, my goal is to interpret my surroundings using fine metals and gems, as well as other interesting materials. Much of my artwork is representational and created with respect to a theme or experience. I allow these themes to guide me through the design and creation of each piece. Many of my pieces will hint to my love of the natural world as well as the last 10 years of my life as a Grand Canyon guide.
When designing a piece I consider aesthetic appeal, function, and wear-ability. I enjoy the challenge of making each piece while exploring negative space, and movement. I also play with contrast in my work by using different textures, metals, stones, and shapes. The combination of these elements has allowed my work to become coherent in concept, and diverse in nature.
I discovered jewelry making in the small northern Arizona town of Prescott nearly 20 years ago. Since then I have completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with an emphasis in metalsmithing at Northern Arizona University and developed a studio where I execute my visions... ”creative jewelry with a natural twist.”
